Description
Manor Farm's service block, located approximately 10 meters northeast of the farmhouse, is a dairy, washhouse, and bakery dating from the 16th or 17th century, with its roof raised in the 18th century. The structure is built from coursed ironstone rubble and features a two-unit plan. It is a single storey plus attic, topped with a corrugated-iron roof and has a brick end stack. The stone coped gables add to its character. The doorway has a four-centred head with a semi-circular arched dripmould and is fitted with a plank door. To the left of the door are two small rectangular windows with chamfered stone surrounds. The left end of the building has exterior stone steps leading to the loft. Inside, there is a four-bay Queen Strut roof and a large, wide fireplace with a chamfered bressumer that includes housing for a copper and two large bread ovens. A plank door in a moulded wood frame leads to the dairy, and there are three-light wood mullioned windows, a stop-chamfered beam, and a stone flag floor.
