Description

Nether Cottage, Middle Cottage, and Gate Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into three dwellings. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and the late 18th century to early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels, featuring roofs made of Stonesfield slate and artificial stone-slate, along with brick stacks.

The structure has a three-unit plan with a service wing and is two storeys tall, plus an attic. The front of the earlier main range has three windows, with aligned three-light casements on both floors. It has a steep-pitched roof that includes three hipped roof dormers, each containing two-light casements. Stacks are located at both gables and to the right of the centre.

To the right, the lower range has a three-light casement and two 20th-century openings at ground level, while the first floor features two two-light casements. The right gable has a stack, and the rear includes additional casements in both sections, with the main range displaying a gabled stair projection. The right gable wall reveals an earlier gable line. The interiors have not been inspected.
