Description

This is a 17th-century headstone located approximately 30 metres southeast of the chapel of the Church of St. Mary. Made of ironstone, it is small and features detailing similar to two nearby headstones for Ann, daughter of Thomas Warner, and Anne, wife of John Hawtin. The headstone has scrolled shoulders and an angel at the top. The inscription is framed in a shield panel and reads: "Here lyeth the body of Margaret wife of John Hawtin who was buryed the 18 day of July 1678."
