Description
The Vicarage is a vicarage designed by the vicar George Bell between 1811 and 1815 and built by E. Randle. It was enlarged in 1858 by G.E. Street. The building features a regular coursed Hornton rubble stone elevation facing High Street and has a 20th-century tile roof. There is a stone stack with brick flues on the left side. The structure is L-shaped, consisting of a single storey plus an attic, and has a three-window range. A wing extends to the left at right angles to the road. The 20th-century door on the left has a limestone surround and is flanked by two tall narrow windows with trefoiled heads. To the right, there are single-, two-, and four-light windows, with the latter featuring half columns as mullions and trefoiled heads. Stone relieving arches are present, along with a flat band at the attic level. Two gabled attic dormers with stone copings are also visible. The interior has not been inspected.
