Description
Thatchers is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed from regular coursed ironstone rubble and features a combination of 20th-century tile and plain tile roofs, along with a brick ridge stack. The building has a three-unit plan and is a single storey plus attic, with a four-window range. To the right, there is a thatched porch. The entrance has a plank door with rails and wrought iron hinges. On the ground floor, there are three 3-light casements with stone flat arches. The attic contains 2- and 3-light metal casements that have 20th-century lintels and wrought iron casement fasteners. The interior has been remodelled and extended in the 20th century. In the 19th century, Thatchers was divided into two houses, both accessed from the same front door. A fire plaque is located above and to the left of the door.
