Description

Fairview is a house located on Paines Hill in Steeple Aston. It likely dates mainly from the 18th century but has earlier origins. The building is constructed from limestone and marlstone rubble, featuring wooden lintels and a Stanesfield-slate roof with a rebuilt brick ridge stack. It has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high. The front has three windows and has been raised and altered with marlstone. There is a central six-panel door flanked by three-light casements, with two-light casements on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
