Description

Westfield Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, situated on the south side of North Lane in Weston on the Green. The house is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels and has a plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. It is arranged in an L-shape. The two-storey front has a four-panel door positioned to the left of centre, accessed via an ornamental trellis porch. There is a three-light casement window to the left and a two-light casement to the right of the door. The first floor has two low two-light casement windows. The right gable wall features a chimney projection, partly obscured by an added rubble outshut. The left gable wall has a prominent rubble chimney projection that tapers upwards, incorporating a tiled bread-oven projection. This gable wall also has windows spanning three floors, mostly blocked, and returns to the rear wing, which is now used as an outhouse. The interior has not been inspected.
