Description

Southfield Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse, possibly with origins in the 17th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble with wooden lintels, featuring a Stonesfield-slate roof and concrete plain tiles, with brick stacks. The building has a 4-unit plan, built in two distinct phases. The two-bay section to the left of the 5-window front is likely the older part, containing 3-light casement windows to both floors. The roofline of this earlier section was raised to match with the later build. The later Stonefield-slate section includes a 4-panel door, positioned between the earlier bays, with a 2-light casement window above. The remainder of this section has two further bays, each with similar casement windows. The roof is complete with four brick stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
