Description

UPPER HEYFORD CHURCH WALK SP42NE (West side) 2/138 Manor Farmhouse GV II

Farmhouse. Probably C17 or earlier, re-modelled early C19. Coursed limestone rubble with some ashlar dressings; pantile and concrete plain-tile roofs with brick stacks. 2 parallel ranges. 2 storeys plus attic. Double-gabled front has the doorway, with 4-panel door and overlight, to left of centre, and both bays have tripartite sashes at ground floor, 16-pane sashes at first floor, and narrow windows in the gable; those to left have chamfered surrounds and labels; those to right have matching rendered lintels and labels. Both ranges have older casement windows to sides and rear, some with stop-chamfered lintels, and the left range extends further to rear. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest.
