Description
This substantial house, located approximately 5 meters west of Holly Cottage, is likely from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and later. It is constructed from coursed limestone and marl stone rubble, some of which is banded, and features wooden lintels. The roof is a combination of Welsh slate and concrete plain tiles, with rubble and rendered stacks. The building has an L-shaped layout and consists of two storeys plus an attic.
At the eastern end, a former cottage projects to the rear and has a regular two-window arrangement of two-light casements and a central plank door. The lower openings feature flat arches made of alternating limestone and ironstone, and the gable wall is banded with a rubble stack. Facing the road, there is a three-light ovolo-moulded wood-mullion window with a chamfered lintel, along with two small stair windows. The rest of the range and its return wing include 20th-century casements, some with stone lintels, while the west gable wall has a parapet and a chamfered stone stair window. The interior has not been inspected. This house is included for its group value.
