Description
Hillside Cottage is a house dating from the 18th century, with some later alterations likely from the early 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, which is now painted, and features a Welsh slate roof with a brick ridge stack. The main range includes a single-storey addition to the left that has a hipped lean-to roof. The cottage is single-storey with an attic and has a two-window range.
On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century two-light timber casements with exposed timber lintels and stone cills. A plank door with a glazed panel, probably from the early 20th century, is set in a plain reveal with a segmental-arched head. There are two half-dormers above, each with similar windows to those on the ground floor. The right side of the cottage has two buttresses, with the front one being pierced.
At the rear, there is a small three-light oriel window with a stone-slated hood, flanked by louvred shutters, along with one two-light timber casement. An apparent glazed door with marginal glazing and leaded coloured glass at the centre also features a stone-slated hood. The interior is said to retain early features.
