Description

The Old Post House and Number 8 are two houses dating to the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The Old Post House is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone, with a continuous slate roof. It has a brick ridge stack and a two-unit plan. The building is two storeys high, featuring a two-window range. An approximately central entrance has a 20th-century door and surround, flanked by ground-floor four-light metal casement windows with wooden lintels. The first floor has two similar three-light windows. Wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs are present. The interior has not been inspected.

Number 8 is built of coursed ironstone rubble with a continuous slate roof shared with The Old Post House. It has a one-unit plan, is two storeys high, and features a one-window range. The entrance on the left side has a 20th-century door, a moulded wooden frame, and a rustic porch. A four-light metal casement window with a wooden lintel is to the right, and a three-light metal casement with a wooden lintel is on the first floor. Ironstone quoins are also present. The interior of Number 8 has not been inspected. The buildings are included in the listing for their group value.
