Description
No. 9 Red Lion Street is a house located at the end of a row, dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of squared coursed ironstone rubble and features a slate roof with brick end stacks. It has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high, with a three-window range. The front entrance is blocked.
On the ground floor, there are renewed 2-, 3-, and 5-light casement windows with wood lintels. The first floor has three 2-light metal casements set in wood frames, also with wood lintels. One of the windows features lead cames, crown glass, and wrought-iron casement fasteners, along with three metal tie-bars. The building was once used as a Co-operative Store. Inside, there is a fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a chamfered beam. This house is included for its group value.
