Description
Beech House is a house dating from the 18th century, with a roof that was raised in the 19th century. It consists of two sections. The main part is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with an ashlar front, topped by a slate roof and featuring stone-coped gables. The house has three renewed stone or brick ridge and end stacks, a three-unit plan, and is two storeys plus an attic high, with a three-window range. The entrance, located off-centre to the left, has a panelled and glazed door, an overlight, and a flat hood, flanked by canted bay windows. To the right of the entrance is a sash window. The first floor features three sash windows with stone lintels and ironstone quoins. The lower left section is made of squared, coursed ironstone with a tile roof and a stone-coped gable on the left, along with a brick end stack. This single-storey plus attic section has a ground floor with a small fixed window that has glazing bars and a wood lintel, and an attic with a half-dormer and a sloping roof. The house was once known as Poultry Farm. The interior has not been inspected.
