Description
Mount Edgcumbe Cottage is an early 19th-century house with Gothic elements, located at The Common. The north-east front is divided into two sections. The northern part has two storeys and one window, featuring painted wood that mimics masonry, a crow-stepped gable with wooden pinnacles, and square-headed casement windows with pointed panes and dripstones above. The eastern section has one storey and three windows, with a stuccoed front, a castellated parapet, and ordinary sash windows, also with dripstones above. The south-west front lacks Gothic features, except for one French window with pointed heads on the top panes. This front is L-shaped, with the north-west bay being splayed and projecting. Mount Edgcumbe Cottage, along with Mount Edgcumbe and Ephraim Lodge, forms a group.
