Description
The Chalet, located at No 86 on the north-west side of Mount Ephraim, dates from around 1840 and was originally a Tunbridge Wells ware shop and factory. This two-storey building is finished in stucco and features an eaves cornice and a stringcourse above the ground floor. It has ten sash windows, although the glazing bars are missing. The structure is divided into two bays, each containing three windows; one window is parallel to the facade while the other is splayed on the inner side, with the outer side being solid. The first-floor windows are flanked by pilasters and topped with a moulded frieze. In the center, there is a three-light bay window above the doorway, and a larger bay window at the north end above the ground floor bay. An iron verandah supported by columns extends above the ground floor, and there is a modern doorcase.
