Description
This stable and barn, located about 50 metres south west of Forge Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century and has been clad and extended in the early 19th to 20th centuries. The barn is timber framed, weather-boarded, and clad with breeze blocks, while the attached stables are made of red brick. Both structures feature plain tiled roofs. The barn has a half-hipped roof with gablets and carriage doors on the eastern gable end, along with a catslide outshot at the rear. The stable block runs parallel to the barn and is a single storey with four offset buttresses supporting its gabled roof. It has three half doors, with the leftmost door featuring a rectangular fanlight. This building is included for its group value.
