Description

The coachhouse, located about 50 metres north-west of Finchcock, dates from the 18th century and is now partially converted for accommodation. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof and features two storeys beneath a hipped roof, with a stack positioned to the left. The central coach entry has a projecting surround with keyed arched recessed doors and a lunette above. There are also lunettes on both the left and right sides on the first floor, and round-headed casements on the ground floor, accompanied by a glazed door to the left and a boarded section to the right, which has round-headed fanlights. To the right, there are second carriage doors with a round-headed surround in an outshot. All openings are framed with gauged brick surrounds. A two-storey 20th-century extension has been added to the rear. Inside, the coachhouse retains re-used timbers of the same scantling and has been partially converted into a house and workshop.
