Description
This is a row of five headstones, all from the 18th century, located approximately 9 meters south of the tower of the Church of St Mary the Virgin. These headstones commemorate members of the Jeffery family and are made of upright sandstone slabs, standing between 450 and 600 millimeters high. Each headstone features a shaped head, with the leftmost one being relatively plain. The next three headstones have carved heads, and the right four display fielded panels. All inscriptions are in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. From left to right, the headstones commemorate Robert Jeffery (died 1770), Elizabeth (died 1748), Richard (date illegible), Sarah (date buried), and Richard (date buried).
