Description

The revettment walls on the north east and south east sides of the churchyard are likely from the late 19th century. They are made of coursed blocks of sandstone ashlar. The road next to the south east side of the churchyard is significantly lower than the churchyard itself, which is supported by a tall battered wall. In the eastern corner, there are stone steps leading down from the churchyard. The wall continues along the north east side of the churchyard, where it borders the garden of the Old Post Office Cottage. In this section, the wall is shorter, more vertical, and features bull-nosed coping. These walls are important to the character of the village and are part of a group with other listed buildings near the Church of St Mary.
