Description

The Coombin headstone, dated 1778, is located adjacent to the north wall of the aisle of the Church of St Mary the Virgin in Speldhurst. This headstone is an upright sandstone slab, approximately 300 millimeters high. Its shaped top features an inscription of crossed arrows. Below, a fielded panel displays Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, commemorating the death of John Coombin in 1778.
