Description
The barn and outbuilding located about 20 metres north of Lea Farm date from the early 18th century, with an extension from the early 19th century. The structure is timber framed and weather-boarded, sitting on a base of red and blue chequered brick, with some sandstone, and features a plain tiled roof. The barn has been extended with sandstone and a slate roof. It has a half-hipped design with central boarded cart doors on the south elevation, which faces the house and is heavily covered in ivy, as well as boarded half doors. The sandstone outbuilding, originally a pigsty, is now used for garaging and has 20th-century garage doors. Inside the barn, there are three bays with wind bracing and a renewed roof, incorporating many reused earlier timbers. This building is included for its group value.
