Description

Delmonden Grange is an 18th-century house situated in Hawkhurst. The exterior is constructed of red and blue chequered brick with a plain tiled roof, and tile hanging to the return elevations. The house has two storeys and an attic, set on a plinth, with a projecting cornice to the roof. The roof is half-hipped to the left, with chimney stacks positioned centrally to the left and projecting at the end to the right, and includes two hipped dormers. There are three three-light mullioned and transomed casement windows on each floor. A cross-window is located at the centre right on the first floor, above a parapeted porch featuring a round-headed doorway and a half-glazed inner doorway. The rear of the house has hipped wings. The facing brick is of two differing builds, which may suggest a gradual rebuilding or re-cladding of an earlier structure, possibly framed.
