Description
The Oak and Ivy Public House is a public house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with later cladding and extensions from the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a timber-framed structure that is roughcast, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building originally had a four-framed bay hall house design and stands two storeys tall on a plinth. The roof is hipped with gablets, and there are stacks positioned at the centre left, as well as projecting and offset stacks at both the left and right ends.
On the first floor, there are three 2-light wooden casements and a 3-light window located to the centre right. The ground floor has three plate glass windows, which were originally two, three, and two-light casements, along with a half-glazed door to the centre left that is topped with a pediment-shaped hood. At the rear left, there is a lower two-storey wing that includes irregular wooden casements and sash windows, as well as plate glass windows on the ground floor. This wing has a flat roof with raking outshots and an end stack.
