Description

This early 19th century or earlier house, known as Southgate and Eastgate, has undergone alterations and extensions in the mid-19th century. The front facade is rendered, while the rear section features tile hanging above a red brick ground floor. The roof is covered with plain tiles.

The front of the house is two storeys and has an attic, with two full gables on the left and right sides, both adorned with pierced bargeboards. Chimneys are located at each end of the building. The gables contain mullioned casement windows: three-light and two-light windows on the first floor, and two two-light windows on the ground floor, all with cornices. A central, gabled porch shelters double panelled doors, also with pierced bargeboards. A single-storey gabled wing extends from the left end, again featuring pierced bargeboards, and supports a fully glazed gabled conservatory with arcaded windows and pierced bargeboards.

A two-storey and attic return wing is located to the right. This wing has a central gable and two gabled dormers. It features three sash windows on the first floor and tripartite sash windows on the ground floor.
