Description
The Lodge at Fowlers Park is an early 19th-century lodge house located on the north side of Rye Road in Hawkhurst. It is constructed of red brick, with some areas rendered, and features a slate roof. The building is one storey high with an attic, characterized by a gabled roof and a central chimney stack.
On the front, there are pointed arched windows on both the left and right sides, each with gauged surrounds, although the right window is painted. The central entrance is a boarded door set within a painted pointed-arched surround. The gable end on the left side has two pointed arched windows with Y-tracery, and there are similar windows at the rear. Additionally, there is a 20th-century extension and a dormer. The Lodge serves as the gate lodge to Fowlers Park.
