Description

This is an 18th-century cottage located on the north side of The Street in Mereworth. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, with tile hanging above. It has a tiled roof with end stacks and two flat-headed dormers. The building is two storeys high with an attic, and originally had two windows. Later additions include the window arrangement and the parapet. The ground floor projects forward between the two bay windows, with a lean-to sloped area. Canted bay windows extend upwards onto the first floor in the outer bays. Sash windows are centrally located within each bay window, each topped with a corbelled cornice. A half-glazed and panelled door is situated centrally, set within a surround of fluted Corinthian pilasters.
