Description

This milestone, located on the northeast side of London Road in Hildenborough, dates from the early 19th century. It is a square-section stone post that has a roughly-rounded top and is painted white. A metal plate with a segmental arched head is attached to the front, displaying the distances: LONDON 27 TUNBRIDGE 3. This milestone is one of three surviving milestones along the London Road in Hildenborough parish.
