Description

Milestone 37 is a milestone from 1826, made of square stone and placed diagonally. It has a rounded top and a curved front, with a triangular chamfer below the curve that displays the milestone number. The top features the words "Parish of Hartley Wintney" in lower case lettering, while the curved face has the word "LONDON" in capital letters. The east face indicates a distance of 8½ miles to Basingstoke, and the west face shows a distance of 1½ miles to Hartford Bridge.
