Description

Stone Cottage is a cottage built around 1800. It features coursed ironstone ashlar, with a later extension on the right made of red brick and coursed stone blocks, which are galletted on the ground floor and tile-hung on the first floor. There is a pentice hood over the ground floor. The roof is slate, with a stack at the right end and another stack almost at the end, positioned off-ridge to the front. The cottage has two storeys and two windows with glazing bar sashes, along with one small casement window on the first floor of the extension. The ground floor windows have gauged heads. The central entrance is framed by a moulded stone surround and is supported by thin Doric columns that hold up a triangular pediment with an ogee soffit and crown plinth. The entrance features a glazed door.
