Description
Dales is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, which was restored in the 20th century. The ground floor is constructed of random rubble stone, while the upper floor features exposed timber-framing with red brick infilling, including some herringbone infilling to the left on the first floor. The right side of the first floor has exposed framing with plaster infilling beneath a hipped return gable, and a jetty under the gable. A bressumer is supported on joists and brackets, with a secondary moulded bressumer forming the cill of the window in the gable bay. The roof is plain tiled and half-hipped to the south, with a central ridge stack. The building has two storeys, with two windows on the first floor and two windows plus one 18th-century splayed bay under the jetty. All windows are casements, except for the splayed bay, which has glazing bar sashes. A modern weather porch is located on the north side.
