Description
Platt Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse that has been restored in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The left-hand section exhibits exposed timber framing with carved braces on both floors. It features a jetty supported by joists and corner brackets on both the front and side. The central range is constructed of random rubble stone with red brick dressings, while a modern rubble stone and red brick wing extends to the right. The roof is tiled, with a hipped design at the timber-framed left end, incorporating two gabled dormers to the left of centre and a return gable made of red and blue brick at the right of centre. A central double brick stack is present, with another brick stack behind the timber-framed wing. The building has two storeys at each end, and a single storey with an attic in the centre. There are one window fronts to each wing, and two windows in the centre. The windows are a mix of square and diamond lattice casements. Entrances are located in the centre and at the rear. The rear elevation has one gable, with modern additions.
