Description

Nos 1 and 2 Fir Tree Cottages are a pair of cottages, now combined into one, dating from around 1830. They feature a distinctive chequered pattern of plum and blue brick with red brick dressings. The cottages have a plain tiled pyramidal roof with a stack at the right end. The building stands two storeys high and has two windows; the ground floor has casements while the first floor features glazing bar sashes, all set within gauged head surrounds. The central doorways have flattened ogee heads, although the doorway on the left has been blocked and replaced by a window. This listing is included for its group value only.
