Description
The Old Post House is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, which was remodeled in the early 19th century. The left side is constructed of squared coursed ironstone, while the front and rear were rebuilt in brick around 1810. It features a thatched roof with a central brick stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. The entrance is located in the left bay and includes a brick porch topped with a thatch roof. The inner doorway has a flat arched brick surround and a four-panel door. To the right of the entrance, there are two three-light casement windows with flat arched brick surrounds. The first floor has three-light casement windows with wooden lintels. The left gable end has stone coping, while the right gable end is finished with tile coping. There is a single-storey 20th-century brick extension to the right. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered spine beam and an open fireplace that has been rebuilt.
