Description
The Ex-Servicemen's Club is a building that was originally a school and attached teacher's house, constructed in 1847. It features red and blue brick with ironstone dressings and a fish-scale tile roof, with a brick stack. The building is designed in the Gothic Revival style and has an L-plan layout. The teacher's house is located to the right. It is one storey with an attic, and the schoolroom, which has two bays, projects forward from the left side. There is a lean-to brick porch with a moulded stone arch at the angle, and the inner doorway has a plain wood frame and a plank door. To the right, there is a window with two arched cusped lights and a square head. The building also has two gabled attic dormers featuring single arched cusped lights, and a pointed three-light window with Geometrical tracery in the schoolroom. An octagonal bell turret with a small spire is located on the left side. The interior has not been inspected.
