Description

Moat Cottage is a cottage dating from around 1550. It features exposed vertical timber-framing with plaster infilling. The building has a continuous first-floor jetty supported by exposed joist ends and a half-hipped roof with an end stack on the left side. The ground floor on the right return side is made of brick. The cottage is two storeys high and has a three-window front with lattice casements, except for the right side, which has a bay with an oriel window above, both likely original features. The central porch is gabled and timbered, with plaster infill and a half-glazed and boarded door.
