Description
The building is a brewhouse, now functioning as a laundry, located about 15 metres west of Minster Abbey. It possibly dates back to the 12th century and is constructed of flint with a plain tiled roof. The structure has a square plan and is one storey high, featuring a hipped roof with large gablets. There is a stack at the right end. The entrance includes a segmental headed doorway made of re-used tooled stone, which has a boarded door. On the left side, there is a blocked round arched window, and at the rear, there is a 19th-century tripartite glazing bar sash window. Inside, the building has a 17th-century clasped purlin roof and large cross-beams that were used for suspending equipment.
