Description

Forge Cottage and the adjacent Old Forge are a house dating from the 18th century. The ground floor is painted brick, with weatherboard cladding on the first floor, and a plain tiled roof. The building has a lobby entry plan and two storeys, with a basement expressed as a plinth. The roof steps down on the left end bay, which is a later addition, and there is a stack in the centre-right. The first floor has four two-light wooden casement windows, with a small stair light in the centre-right. The ground floor has three three-light casement windows and a central half-glazed door leading up four steps. Attached to the right is the Old Forge, now used as a garage; it is built of painted brick with a plain tiled hipped roof and a stack to the rear. It has two wooden casement windows and garage doors at the right end.
