Description

The Old Forge is a building that was likely constructed in the late 18th century and has since been converted into a house. It features painted roughcast walls and a slate roof divided into four distinct sections. The section on the left has a gabled front, with the ridge running at right angles to the facade, and includes coped verges and a finial on the left. The architectural style is Tudor-Gothic.

The building is two storeys high and has a layout of 1:2:4 bays. It includes two and three-light chamfered stone mullioned windows, each fitted with diamond-paned cast-iron lights and stopped labels. On the left side, there is a single bay with a broad pointed arch door opening that has a drip mould and features 20th-century plank doors. To the right, there is a narrower pointed arch door opening with a drip mould and a ribbed, studded door. The left return of the building displays two 2-light Gothic traceried pointed arch windows. The forecourt is enclosed by plain wrought iron railings.
