Description
Ash Tree Cottage Post Office is a building that serves as a shop and house, along with two attached houses. It dates from the 19th century and is constructed of stucco with slate roofs divided into three distinct sections. The roof over the Post Office is hipped with coped verges and features three brick stacks.
The Post Office has a single bay frontage facing Church Road, with two storeys. The first floor includes a 2-light casement window, while the ground floor features two segmental bow windows with glazing bars and a central door opening that has a half-glazed door. This door and the windows are sheltered by a wooden pentice supported on brackets.
The frontage facing South Road is also two storeys and consists of a 1:3:3 bay arrangement, predominantly featuring sash windows with glazing bars. The windows at No 3 are set under stopped labels. There are three door openings, each with 6-panelled doors, where the top two panels are glazed, except for the 20th-century French windows located to the left.
