Description
Manor House is a rectory dating from the 19th century, likely built in the 18th century and rebuilt around 1813 for Reverend J.A. Stephenson. The building features ashlar stone and some roughcast, with a slate roof, coped verges, and embattled, pierced parapets. It has ashlar stacks arranged singly and in groups of two and three, and displays a very irregular Gothick frontage.
The house is two storeys tall with a layout of four bays, one bay, one bay, and one bay. It has three, four, and five-light stone mullioned windows, each light topped with a foiled head and stopped labels. The fourth bay features an elaborate canted bay window with shafts and pinnacles, leaded lights on the ground floor, and traceried sash windows on the first floor. To the left, there is a further single-storey canted bay with casements that have glazing bars, and a small octagonal turret with pinnacles at the right corner of the frontage.
The porch is buttressed and includes shafts, a cusped ogee-headed door opening, and a half-glazed door with quatrefoil panels. To the left, there is a conservatory designed in a matching style, featuring a pierced parapet with pinnacles and large window openings with cusped heads. The interior includes a staircase that is contemporary with the house.
