Description
The Old Forge and attached outbuildings are a house and outbuildings dating from the mid-18th century. They are constructed of red brick with a rubble and brick plinth and feature a plain tile roof. The building has two red brick gable stacks, with the left stack also rendered, and brick coped gables with kneelers. The eaves display a dogtooth design. The structure is two storeys high and consists of three bays. A single flight of five ashlar steps with an iron handrail leads to the doorway, which has a panelled door. On either side of the door are single casement windows set under segmental arches. Above the door are two similar casements. To the right of the main building is a single storey plus garret, two bay red brick and pantile range that sits on a similar plinth and features two blocked segmental arched doorways. Further to the right is another single storey red brick and pantile range, which also has a similar plinth but no openings.
