Description

The Old Rectory is a rectory that has been converted into a house, dating from around 1700, with later alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It features a cement render and wash exterior and a plain tile roof. The building has a single ridge and a rear left stack made of red brick, along with cement rendered stacks on the projecting gables. The gables are coped and have kneelers. The original layout was H-plan.

The structure is two storeys plus an attic and consists of four bays, with the outer single bays projecting and gabled. There is a band above the first floor openings of the central two bays that continues to the single right bay. An attic sill band is present on the outer single bays. The central two bays have a projecting single storey wing with two canted bays, each containing a single glazing bar sash flanked by a narrow sash. The left single bay has a single glazing bar sash, while the right single bay has two smaller similar sashes. Above these are three small sashes in the central bays and a larger sash in the left single bay. In the right single bay, there are two Yorkshire sashes with glazing bars. Above the central bays, there is a single gabled half dormer featuring a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash. The building is included for its group value only.
