Description
The gates to Mount Ephraim, dating from the late 17th century, are constructed of red brick with stone ornamentations and feature wrought iron gates. The 19th-century wrought gates have a simple bar pattern and are accompanied by attached heraldic plaques. The structure includes a rusticated gate press set on moulded plinths with cornices and ball finials. The walls, which are 5 feet high and built in Flemish bond brickwork, step down and splay outwards about 20 feet on either side of the gate piers, leading to two additional rusticated piers that also feature scrolls, cornices, and ball finials.
