Description
Mountfield is a house dated 1854, as shown by the inscription over the left ground floor window. It is constructed of dressed stone with a patterned tiled roof and is built in an irregular plan, designed in the Tudor style. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and the left half is recessed with a lower ridge line, featuring a projecting gable to the left. A stack is located centrally to the right. The fenestration is irregular, featuring five mullioned windows on the first floor, with battlemented bays in the centre and to the right, and on the left return at ground floor level. A porch is situated in the re-entrant angle between the two wings, featuring a moulded arched doorway, attached shafts and a buttressed gable with an achievement.
