Description

Milestone located on the west side of Ashford Road in Sheldwich, dating from the early 19th century. The stone stands about 2 feet high and features a pyramidal top. It has an attached iron plate that is embossed with the names "FAVERSHAM 4 ASHFORD 9." This milestone is a later example than another one preserved 2 miles closer to Faversham and uses the modern spelling of the town's name.
