Description
Orchard Cottage is a house dating from around 1700. It features red and blue chequered brick and a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys high, set on a flint plinth, and has a discontinuous plat band. The hipped roof has a stack positioned off centre to the right. The front of the house has a regular arrangement of windows, including two wooden casements and a small central stair light on the first floor, and two segmental beaded wooden casements on the ground floor. There is a central boarded door with a 20th-century flat hood that obscures the wall marks of the original pedimented hood. The right side of the cottage is rendered and may indicate an earlier framed origin.
