CHIDDINGSTONE BOUGH BEECH Hilders Farmhouse

GV II Early C17 wing built on to C15 hall house. Road front shows two storeys and gable end attic windows. Exposed framed structure and half timbering. Brick infilling on ground floor. Rendered infilling above. Ridge tile roof with one end hipped and ridge stack. Two square bay projections with windows supporting oversailing gable ends with carved brackets and moulded crosspiece. In between, front door with projecting tiled hood over. First floor bay windows with mullions and transoms. Various other casement windows irregularly placed. The C15 right part, under large, hipped roof shows visible timber framing, with stout diagonal brace. Rear view shows two gables and gabled central staircase projection. Modern rear extensions. Inside much exposed timber and stout roof truss with carved crown post.
