Description
The outbuilding range on the southeast side of the yard at Clouts Farm dates from the 18th century, with the southwest end possibly being of much earlier origin, featuring re-used timber. It is timber framed and weather boarded, topped with a plain tile roof that has a half hip on the southwest and a hip on the northeast. The northeast end includes a three and part bay cartshed that is open-sided along the southeast, supported by wooden posts on brick piers. The northeast and northwest walls display 18th-century style diagonal bracing and there is a brick plinth. An internal partition made of weather boarding is located at the junction with the southwest part of the range. The southwest section may be older, incorporating re-used timber, and consists of two and part bays with heavy jowled posts that have mortises. There is also a doorway in the northwest wall. This building is included as part of a farmyard group.
