Description
The outbuilding range on the northeast side of the yard at Clouts Farm is a former animal shed and hay loft, dating from the late 17th century to the 18th century, and includes some re-used timber. It is timber framed and weather-boarded, with a brick plinth and a half-hipped plain tile roof. The structure consists of three bays and is one storey high with a loft. It features jowled posts with brackets and has an open-sided ground floor facing the yard, supported by timber posts on brick piers. There are racks for the passage of hay from the loft at the rear, and a northwest lean-to is also present. This building is part of a farmyard group and is adjacent to a 20th-century shed that is positioned at right angles on a southwest-northeast axis.
